Reports To: Vice President of Engineering

SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Electrical Engineer is to ensure that the electrical facilities are constructed, maintained, and operated to industry accepted standards in accordance with sound engineering design.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties listed below are not meant to be all-inclusive. Other duties may be assigned from
time to time in correspondence with the needs of the cooperative.
Manage and administer our GIS Mapping, Staking, OMS, and iPad Field Operationstools. Work with our IT department to hone their integration.
Design and build distribution and transmission projects that serve urban, suburban andrural accounts ranging from private homes to industrial pipelines to commercial districtsand manufacturing facilities.
Review daily work orders and design drawings to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Oversee engineering and customer information as it relates to mapping programs andobjectives.
Manage the mapping network and related equipment, troubleshoot problems, andmaintain working relationship with vendors to keep system running at an optimal level.
Provide expertise and knowledge to ensure the organization’s electric service needs aremet.
Provide engineering services including design and cost estimates for construction andoperation of the electrical systems.
Supervise and direct staking, mapping and work order personnel.
Aide in the development of equipment specifications and the determination of

Provide leadership, guidance, direction and training to hourly employees.
Assist in the preparation and administration of long-range engineering studies andconstruction work plans.
Compile and assist in the analysis of data.
Participate in safety meetings and training programs as required.
Participate in Annual Meeting as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in power ispreferred but a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology will beconsidered.

CERTIFICATES and LICENSES
Valid First Aid and CPR card preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must be able to communicate technical information effectively with fellow employees, consumers and the public in general and at a level appropriate to the understanding of the person being addressed.
Must be able to read and develop technical drawings, staking sheets and schematics.
Must become proficient in applicable regulatory codes and construction standards such as NESC, NEC, and RUS standards.
Must become proficient in the use of engineering software.
Must be proficient in the application of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Must possess the ability and desire to self-educate in diverse subjects involving both hardware and software.
Must possess the ability to work independently. Must be self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and plan tasks.
Must be of high integrity and possess good working habits.
Must be able to lead by example.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the
duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, stoop, kneel,
crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
Other specific abilities required are ability to talk using the telephone and hear within normal
range.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works inside a normal office environment as well as outside in the field where the employee is exposed to all four seasons and the effects of each including cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
