TITLE: Human Resources Manager (Southern Region)
BROAD BAND: Management Band
QUALIFICATIONS: Position requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or in a related
field and a minimum of six years of exempt level Human Resources experience, with at least
two years in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of experience and
education/training. Experience in Talent Acquisition and PHR certification preferred. Strong
word processing and spreadsheet knowledge/experience is required. Excellent organizational,
communication and analytical skills are also required.

REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources
SUPERVISES: Human Resources Representative (Southern Region)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Administer Human Resources policies and procedures that support the day-to-day
operations of the Human Resources functions. Provide internal HR service to all
employees and supervisors. Assist to develop Human Resources policies and
procedures as assigned.
2. Manage the day-to-day administrative support and recordkeeping functions of the
Southern Region HR department. Plan, direct, supervise and evaluate the activities of
direct reports.
3. Address employee relation issues and issues of performance deficiencies, misconduct
and policy violations as appropriate by conducting investigations, preparing reports
with findings and consulting with management, legal counsel and/or Director of Human
Resources when needed.
4. Review performance evaluations and associated pay adjustments for compliance with
standards. Assist Director of Human Resources in development of new program
components as assigned.
5. Assist Director of Human Resources in administering the Salary Administration Program.
This includes responsibilities such as assisting supervisors with compensation decisions and
finalizing job offers. Coordinate with Central Region staff.
6. Oversee administration of benefit eligibility/enrollment, leaves of absence, including Family
and Medical Leave (FMLA), Personal Leaves of Absence (PLOA), short and long-term
disability and workers compensation.
7. Provide oversight of regional recruiting processes including job postings, resume
processing, applicant tracking and onboarding.
8. Assist supervisors in proper development of job descriptions. Maintain accurate job
descriptions for all positions.

9. Assist Director of Human Resources with projects, research and implementing new
programs as assigned.
10. Manage unemployment compensation claims, appeals and hearings.
11. Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills through reading professional
publications, websites, webinars, seminars, classes and other continuing education
resources.
12. Promote company culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to
company behavioral standards for customer service.
13. Maintain and protect confidentiality and security of all organizational information
gained in the course of performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to,
financial, client and employee information.
